Reader review

John began reading The Golden Amulet yesterday morning (Sunday) and again, he didn't stop until he finished it last night. He had a strange smile on his face as I watched him close the book. I asked him what was wrong and he said "I didn't want it to end".
John has commented on your writing as a "refined" Louis L'Amour or Zane Grey! You've got a huge fan there Mark! Just thought I'd let you know.

Received the following letter regarding The Golden Amulet:
Mark, I loved The Golden Amulet. I was very impressed with your knowledge of sailing the high seas in the 1800s. Your book is fast paced with a great story line. It is imaginative, exciting and suspenseful - a real page turner for me. Your friend, R.D.

"This is an outstanding book. The story kept me going until the end. In fact it is one of those you do not want to put down until you finish." Mitzi Dahlberg, July 2009

This story was drawn from a number of elements - history, myth and some old-fashioned 'what if?'
Comments from those who have read the book have been great. If they weren't, I'd hide my head in shame. Give it a shot ...

The Golden Amulet

Now in the twilight of his years, James Kennedy relates the story of his early years, from a modest home in Ireland to the rough and tumble life of the post Civil War Boston waterfront. Framed for murder, he must leave Boston and seek his fortune further west, but not before meeting the love of his life. A chance encounter with a highly successful Texas cattleman begins the journey of young Kennedy from the wild stretches of the Texas frontier to the majestic beauty of the Colorado mountains and the power of the Golden Amulet before returning to Boston to settle old scores.
